Decision guide

How to choose a dispenser

Trigger sprayer, pump, or foamer? Pick the right mechanism by the viscosity of your fill, the product type and the way it is applied. Five categories compared in one place.

Dispensing mechanism comparison

Choose the mechanism primarily by the viscosity of your fill. The table sums up which product types each category suits and the threads we commonly keep in stock.

Selection in four steps

1. Determine the viscosity of your fill

Viscosity is the most important parameter. A sprayer handles thin liquids (disinfectant, toner, perfume). Creams and lotions need a lotion pump. Viscous liquids (gels, concentrates) require a high-output pump.

2. Choose the dispensing pattern

A trigger sprayer delivers a flat spray for surface cleaning. A fine mist sprayer covers face or hair applications. A foam set produces foam from a liquid soap without any propellant.

3. Verify the bottle neck thread

The mechanism has to match your bottle thread. The first number (for example 28) is the neck diameter in millimetres, the second (for example 410) is the thread type. If you do not know the thread, send a sample and we will verify compatibility.

4. Plan the volume and batch size

Stock versions ship from 500 pieces. Custom production with your own colour, material or print usually starts at 5,000 to 10,000 pieces depending on the type.

Frequently asked questions

Which mechanism should I choose for liquid cosmetics?

For low-viscosity liquid cosmetics (toners, facial lotions, perfumes), a fine mist sprayer that delivers a soft mist works well. Choose a fine mist for face products and a standard sprayer for hair care. In this category we commonly stock threads 20/410, 24/410 and 28/410.

Sprayer or pump - what is the difference?

A sprayer disperses liquid into a spray or mist and suits low viscosity (cleaning products, toners, disinfectant). A pump delivers a measured dose and handles medium viscosity (shampoos, lotions, soaps). For viscous liquids use a high-output pump.

Which closure for household chemistry and cleaning products?

For thinner cleaning products and sprays, trigger sprayers with threads 28/400, 28/410 or 28/415 are used. For viscous concentrates and large containers, choose high-output pumps with threads 32/410, 38/400 and 38/410.

How do I know which thread I need?

The thread determines which mechanism fits the bottle. The first number is the neck diameter in millimetres, the second is the thread type and height. If you do not know the thread of your container, send us a sample or the neck dimensions and we will verify compatibility.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Stock versions ship from 500 pieces. Custom production with your own colour, material or print usually starts at 5,000 to 10,000 pieces depending on the type. We confirm the exact quantity in the quote based on your configuration.

Not sure which to pick?

Send us the viscosity of your fill, the neck thread and the expected volume. We will recommend a suitable mechanism and prepare a quote. No obligation.
